On Monday, October 14, Parliament celebrated Team UK’s remarkable achievements at WorldSkills Lyon 2024. Team UK’s presence in Lyon was highly significant, as it provided an opportunity to benchmark the UK’s skills against the world’s best.
Competing in the skills category of joinery was Harry Scolding from Solihull. Harry won a silver medal for his outstanding performance in the competition.
Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst said:
I was hugely proud to welcome Harry to Parliament following his medal winning success in Lyon. Harry stunned the judges with his world class skills in joinery. Harry is a former apprentice at Solihull College and University Centre, his achievements will help to inspire many more young students to learn important skills such as joinery. Congratulations Harry!
