Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst MP said:
The automotive industry is a vital part of our economy. Supplying a £93 billion turnover and £22 billion value added to the UK economy, with investments around £4 billion each year in research and development.
Here in Solihull, the automotive industry is significant for our economy and contributes to the 905,000 cars that were built in the UK in 2023. Eight out of ten cars made in the UK are exported worldwide.
